Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For the last two years, both my son in law Mike (pillion) and I, have taken part in the same event of riding 1000 miles in under 24 hours http://www.rblr1000.co.uk/ for the Poppy appeal. This year is no different, we will be doing it again.
This year we are doing it slightly differently, we intend to extend the ride by another 500 miles therefore making it 1500 miles in total, but still completing it in 24 hours.
We will be starting at Squires Cafe in Sherburn in Helmet, near Leeds, from there we head North to Berwick Upon Tweed, then on to Perth in Scotland. There we turn South and head down to Penzance in Cornwall. Across to Dover and then finally back North to Squires Cafe to finish 1506 miles in under 24hrs.
The Royal British Legion is a UK charity that provides financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependants.
We are active members of the Royal British legion Riders Branch, details of the branch can be found here http://www.rblr.co.uk/content/
I enjoy riding my bike and this is a good way of combining both riding and raising money for what is a very good cause. Check out this video to see what monies raised through the Poppy appeal are used for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m03cOq1GO0&feature=player_embedded
