Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit Cranstons' JustGiving page.
On Saturday 3rd June 2017, Cranstons' 8-man team will set out to complete a gruelling 20 mile Lakeland fell walk; summiting 10 peaks in just one day.
We will set off early in the morning from Braithwaite Village Institute, climbing the five peaks of Catbells, Maiden Moor, High Spy, Dale Head and Robinson before descending to Buttermere for lunch.
In the afternoon we will hopefully conquer Whiteless Pike, Wandope, Crag Hill, Sail and Barrow before descending for a well-earned cup of tea or perhaps something stronger! (Probably the latter)
The total ascent is around 8000 ft ….no easy stroll.
Cranstons has been proud to be associated with Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland throughout its 20 year history. Many of our staff, their families, and friends of the business have benefited from the wonderful service that Hospice at Home provide, often in extremely difficult circumstances.
When we heard the Hospice were looking for teams to complete a fundraising challenge to celebrate their 20th anniversary, we were very keen to get involved. Eight people willingly volunteered for the challenge with no need for any arm twisting! Callum our most athletic team member even asked if he could run it!
We are busy training hard so it would be absolutely wonderful if all our efforts result in significant amount of money raised for this brilliant local charity. The more messages and donations we can bring in the more motivation we will have during the tough parts of the day especially on the last couple of peaks when fatigue will have set in.
