Story
10,000 Miles, Two Wheels and lots of Coffee!
We are two brothers, from Aberdeen, cycling our way to raise awareness aboutmental health. Our aim is to cycle 10,000 miles, over the course of a year, averaging at around 30 miles per day. We plan to start our challenge on the 1st November 2015.
The start date will mark the tenth anniversary since our fathers death to suicide, so this cause issomething very close to our hearts. In doing this challenge we would like to raise money andawareness about mental health. Any proceeds that are kindly donated through our JustGiving pagewill go directly to three chosen charities: Mental Health Aberdeen, The Scottish Association forMental Health and Mind, the mental health charity.
1 in 4 British adults will experience a Mental Health problem in the course of a year. Therefore it isquite likely that one day you, a family member, a friend or colleague will experience a mental healthproblem. Yet mental illness is still very stigmatised.
We hope that we can use this opportunity to help those in need of support and take away theprejudice, ignorance and fear surrounding mental health.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated and give us the motivation to carry on, even with achinglegs, numb bums and in rain, shine or snow!
