Nathan and i are running for St John Ambulance and you donating will be supporting 40,000 volunteers committed to caring and saving lives. As well as first aid duties at events such as the Great North Run, St John Ambulance are on hand to help the emergency services in times of crisis as was demonstrated after the London bombings in 2005. More recently they were involved in supporting those areas affected by the floods and assisting a variety of activities from by providing rest centres for those badly affected and homeless in Gloucestershire Hereford, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands, Wiltshire and Worcestershire with other resources standing by to assist where necessary. They also have a network of caring services across the country including health units for the homeless, library services in hospitals and care homes and sitting services for the elderly.
