Story
Hi
I decided at the start of the year to run a marathon. I wanted to do this for three reasons: Get fit, say that I had done one and most importantly raise some money for charity.
I am running the Great Scottish Run Half Marathon on the 5th September 2010 and then the Loch Ness Marathon on the 3rd October 2010. I will be supporting Cancer Research for both runs.
Some of you will know that my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, she was so brave and went through all the treatment. It was a really traumatic time and I can't even to begin to imagine how hard it was on my mum. We were given the good news that the treatment had been successful and my mum was given the all clear. This obviously had a major impact on me and my family and since then my mum has been raising money for breast cancer charities. We always support her but I would like to go and do something on my own to show my support for this cause which has had a major impact on my life.
So I am running these two events and I am looking for your support to raise some money for Cancer Research. Most of you will know that this is going to be a major challenge as I am not known for my athletic ability but this cause is so important that it is motivation enough. I am sure some of you will have been affected by cancer, or at least you will know someone who has, so it is a cause that close to many peoples haearts and I hope that you'll give your support to this charity. I'm sure you can appreciate how much it means to me to raise money for this cause and any support or donations are greatly appreciated. I am looking to raise £300 so even if you can spare a couple of Pounds, that would make all the difference.
