Story
Hi! My name is Jamie, I'm 8 years old and I love cooking (no, I'm not THAT Jamie). My family have been members of the Down's Syndrome Oxford (DSO) community since I was born, who provide all sorts of resources and social gatherings aimed at providing support and helping people like me with my development needs. They were expev]cially useful for me during my early years, giving me an excellent grounding to move onto nursery, pre-school and now mainstream school.
Unfortunately DSO, like many charities have suffered from a drop in funds over the last year. Therefore, they have launched the Challenge 21 initiative, with the aim that families raise £21. To achieve this I will attempt 3 bakes, providing 21 of each item to reflect having 3 of the 21st Chromosome - 21/3 - geddit? before 21/3 - geddit now?
I shall bake:-
Week 1 - 21 triple chocolate cookies
Week 2 - 21 homemade sausage rolls
Week 3 - 21 rice krispie cakes
Additionally, my daddy said if we could raise enough pennies to make £100, he will shave his head. Well, it can't look any worse than his lockdown hair does now. This would take place on World Down's Syndrome Day itself (Sunday 21st). *(Note from dad - I won't go completely bald but will clip it with no guard to 0.5mm, certainly a lot, lot shorter than I've ever had it before!).
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Love from Jamie, Jess, Mummy and Daddy Xxx
