Story

5k Every Day in May:

Poppy Roberts has organised a month of fundraising activity in memory of her amazing dad, David. She is encouraging folk to run, walk or cycle 5k during the month of May and donate £5 to Greater Manchester Youth Network (David’s favourite charity).

In true David style Lynwen Harrison and I have decided to go a step further and plan to run 5k every day in May in memory of our beautiful friend.

You can help support us in one of the following ways..

1) Pick a day to run with us and provide much needed moral support.

2) Pick a day in May to sponsor using the link below

3) For those of you that aren’t able to run, walk or cycle .... pick a day in May and we will run on your behalf!

Why GMYN's work is vital for young peopleBefore the pandemic, one third of young people in the UK were lonely, half felt unready for work and half felt they didn't belong to their local community. Now, during this crisis, 80% of young people with a history of mental ill health have said that the current situation is making them feel worse. At GMYN, our key focus is supporting young people with experience of the care system and special educational needs and disabilities to feel safe, supported and cared for but, as charities and statutory services respond to the pandemic, the support available for these young people has suddenly changed and reduced. But they now need this support more than ever.Any support you can offer is helpful. Thank you.
