We harness the power of comedy to help those living incredibly tough lives

Story

Hi there,

To raise money for Comic Relief, the comedian Mark Watson is doing a 25 hour long stand up show on February 28th-March 1st at the Pleasance Theatre, Islington.

Concurrent with, and as a part of, the show, Watson wants audience members to simultanously be doing 25 hour marathon events of their own, updates from which will form the backbone of his 25 hours of talking.

With this in mind, in a back room in the theatre, the two of us, ably accompanied by our glamorous assistant Zarte (Rosemary Ford was busy) will be playing a gruelling 25 hour long head-to-head Countdown marathon. It might be the most insanely monotonous thing anyone has ever attempted, and we might have trouble spelling our own faces after hour 20, but my God, we're doing it anyway.

With the official backing of Countdown themselves, we hope to put our endless amounts of practice and enthusiasm for the game to the best use possible, and raise a significant amount of money to a worthy cause. With your support, we can do that.

Thanks!
