Cycling around the coast of Great Britain · 23 March 2022

More than 10 million people have fled their homes to escape conflict in Ukraine. Leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they need shelter, food and water. Donate now.

In April I will be leaving Kent, heading south to the coast and turning left at Eastbourne to attempt to cycle almost 10,000kms (6,000miles) anti-clockwise around the coast of Great Britain in a journey I estimate will take around five months.

One of the charities I will be raising money for is The Disaster Emergency Committee's Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, which is raising money to help those fleeing Ukraine.

Half a million people have fled the country in recent days, and many more have had to leave their homes to escape the fighting.

DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.

  • £30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month
  • £50 could provide blankets for four families to keep them warm
  • £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month
