In April I will be leaving Kent, heading south to the coast and turning left at Eastbourne to attempt to cycle almost 10,000kms (6,000miles) anti-clockwise around the coast of Great Britain in a journey I estimate will take around five months.

One of the charities I will be raising money for is Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

Each week in the UK around 12 fit and healthy people aged under 35 die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. That means every year around 600 young people go off to school/work/to play sport and a variety of other things and never come home, without any warning at all.

With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. It has been shown that screening can lead to an 89% reduction in sudden cardiac deaths.

To find out more about how your support can help, visit the CRY website: www.c-r-y.org.uk.

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.
