Late last year my dad, Graham Driver, sadly passed away after he took his own life. To raise money for a great cause and in memory of him, a few of us have decided to take on the 24-hour Three Peak Challenge on Thursday 22nd June. The challenge consists of summiting the three largest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales; Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and lastly Mount Snowdon- we must be mad.
To complete the challenge we will need to complete 13 hours of hill walking and 11 hours of driving all in 24 hours. The team will be me, my girlfriend Holly and friends Chris Willcox, Will Pickering, Sam Oldfield, Harry Sale, Olly Fenton and our driver Cliff Sale.
Three-quarters of suicides each year are men and that's why the money raised from this challenge will go to MANUP? Charity which encourages open conversations about mental health and works towards destigmatising the idea that men should bottle up their feelings. Their website hosts a number of videos and resources that can help people that are struggling. Throughout the year, they also organise group meetups and video calls to encourage men to open up about how they are feeling.
Any donations would be massively appreciated as the money will help continue the great work that MANUP? do. Let's help stop unnecessary deaths and get people talking.
