On August 16, I aim to complete Gaelforce West to raise funds for Amnesty International.

This 67km course involves trail/mountain running or walking; cycling and kayaking. It spans two counties and runs from Glassilaun beach in Co Galway to the heritage town of Westport, Co Mayo.

The terrain includes mountain scree, bogland, trails, sealed roads and the majestic waters of Killary Fjord. Which all sounds very romantic, no doubt to make it a bit more appealing to those of us who will face it in August!

Beyond the obvious personal challenge, I am doing this to raise money for Amnesty International Ireland. And I need your help.
