Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Along with three good friends, Keith Wilding, Stephen Penrose and Sean Hogan I will be trekking to Everest Base Camp via the Gokyo Glacier.
I have chosen to raise money for NSPKU because my 3 year old Grand daughter Evie, was born with a rare condition called PKU. This affects 1 in 10,000 children. It is an inherited disorder which, if not treated would cause brain damage. Fortunately this can be prevented by following a special diet. Further research is much needed as her diet is very limited. She can only eat 4g of protein per day and the substitute food leaves a lot to be desired. Thanks to this being identified during the pin prick blood test at birth Evie is able to live a normal life.

More information on this rare condition can be found on the NSPKU web site using the the following link; http://www.nspku.org/information/whatispku

Any donations would be greatly appreciated
