Story
Update - Thank you all so much for your very kind sponsorship. We all had a fantastic day, brilliantly organised, and a great party in the evening. Everyone arrived safely and we have raised thousands for the charity. (I will update when we know the final number!)
I would like to tell you about a charity event for which I would like your support! I, along with up to 100 others will be cycling 90 miles on the 15th May 2010 and I will be attempting to haul my (slightly) overlarge frame from Burleigh College in Loughborough to Skegness.....although I still think Loughborough to Shepshed is a better option!
The charity is the Bone Cancer Research Trust and in particular in the memory of a courageous young man, Tom Walker. Tom passed away at the tender age of 18, having been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. This is the most common type of bone cancer and which is most often found in teenage boys.Tom, diagnosed when he was 16 went through many months of chemotherapy and even after a forequarter amputation, had an amazing and positive outlook on life. He was awarded the Wellchild award and the prestigious Diana award. His parents Rick & Jacquie, and brother Mike are constantly trying to raise awareness of the Bone Cancer Research Trust and their friends, family and members of Loughborough RFC are going to do our best to do the same.
Any support would be extremely welcome, and lets face it I need all the help I can get!
Thank you
Koooo (aka Colin)
