Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A couple of years ago I was looking for a new challenge and came up with this mad idea of climbing Kilimanjaro! What better way to test myself than climbing the tallest free standing mountain in the world? At 5895m (19341ft) it is so big that it creates a rain shadow to the south and east of Tanzania, supporting the fertile land full of banana groves and coffee plantations.
The climb takes place in September over 10 days, camping out on the mountainside, with the final ascent heading out in the early hours (just after midnight) and taking 17 hours to complete. (My legs ache already!)
The 'dream' finally became a reality when I signed up for a trek last year, having worked out just how much this was going to cost me personally and which charity I would raise money for. Oh yeah, that's another thing, but a very important one. Every penny raised in sponsorship goes to Active Hope and doesn't in any way fund my climb, so please give generously.
Well, that's it for now, so thank you once again for visiting my page and remember to dig deep! Active Hope do a fantastic job and make a huge difference in kids lives, so your support is vital.
