Story

Colette:

Lisa and I are taking on the Great Scottish Half Marathon 2016! YUS! Go Us!We plan to run like the wind, well, as fast as our size 3s can take us, and in doing so we are taking the opportunity to raise money for a great cause. The Scottish Association for Mental Health – SAMH, aim to challenge the stigma and discrimination associated with mental health, and support those who feel lost and alone as a result of mental ill health.

Do us a solid and sponsor us!

Lisa:

After never running at an event and only ever running to catch a train, I naturally took the next step and signed up for a half marathon. I'll be the colour of a beetroot if/when I cross the finish line so please do me a solid and donate even a small amount to soften the blow.

On a more serious note, fundraising for a local charity helping those with mental health issues is something we both wanted, enter SAMH! I welcome any discussion that helps break down the stigma of mental health and it's an issue that I'm passionate about highlighting/combating. Not everybody has someone to turn to when they're struggling and without charities like SAMH, the number of people taking their own lives could be much higher than 2 a day.
