Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

You have supported us with The Shine Walk in September 2010, you supported us with The Cheltenham Challenge June 2011, you supported us with our Auction November 2011...you are amazing, now we want you to support us again but in a different way.  On 23rd June 2012, along with our friends all over the world, we plan to turn the sky purple to raise awareness of Pancreatic Cancer.  Please help us.  We will be launching biodegradable balloons with messages to loved ones at 7pm GMT along with American, Canada, Australia, New Zeland and all over the UK and Ireland.....if you want a message sent please make a donation to our justgiving page, and send an email to me or Mandy or join us on the night at The Appletree, Woodmancote.  You know we know how to party xxxxx

To all those who attended the  Cocktails and Cupcakes on 27th November I salute you...You were incredible.  Despite all the things that went wrong over the last couple of weeks, change of Artiste etc, you still supported my family.  Money is still coming in so I will keep you all updated......I have kept my family's reason for this below.

I would like everyone who visits my page to also visit www.pancreaticcancer.org and pledge your support for Campaign for Survival.  Thank you xx

Those that know me and my family will know that I lost my wonderful Mum, Lynn Ball to Pancreatic Cancer March 11th 2010.  We also lost her brother, my Uncle Rob in January 2006 and their cousin Noel,  November 2004.

Mum survived just 7 weeks between diagnoses and her passing and Noel survived just 2 weeks.  We have a support group on Facebook for families going through this, called Families in Support of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness so please feel free to pop over and have a chat anytime you need a question answered or just need a hug. We have learned that survival rates for Pancreatic Cancer have not improved in 40 years and currently the survival rate is 3% compared to figures over 80% for breast cancer and testicular cancer.  At the very least we are hoping that this event can bring this to the Public's attention and give other people the chance to survive.

To this end we have planned a fantabulous evening in Cardiff on Sunday November 27th.  This will take place at Gwdihw's just off the City Centre.  We have plenty planned, auctions, raffles, music...and of course you will get a Cocktail and Cupcake on your arrival.  For up to date info on the evening get yourselves over to Facebook "Cocktails and Cupcakes......

We really need every penny for Pancreatic Cancer UK to help fund their amazing work in supporting sufferers and their families and raising awareness of this horrendous disease.  Its known as The Silent Killer, and anyone who has lost someone to this will know why.  Please please support us.

Thank you

Linda, Anna, Kirsty and Shelley xxxxxxxxx

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.
