Story
So I’m gonna be honest. I’m going to London in April for a wedding and I found out that the London Marathon was the weekend after. Naturally I tried looking at every possible way to enter at this late stage and miraculously found a charity to give me a bib.
The charity is called Action for M.E. and they “empower people with M.E. to fulfill their potential, and secure the care and support they need, while working towards a greater understanding of the illness and ultimately a cure.” But what is M.E.? Yeah, I didn’t know either at first, until I started looking at their website. M.E. stands for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis but you probably know it as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
I have no connections to M.E. and I don’t know much about
it, but the people at this charity were super nice and got me a bib for the
London Marathon with only THREE HOURS left til the registration cut off! Plus
they didn't make me commit to raising a minimum amount, they just said I could
raise whatever I can since the race is only a couple months away. How cool is
that? But given that they have been so awesome, I have made myself a target of
$1000 US (GBP650) and I very much intent to reach this amount.
So please help me give thanks to the people who got me in to the 2015 London Marathon by making a small donation. It automatically has donation amounts for $20 and over but you can totally just write $5 in the ‘Other amount’ section, even $1 and a share would be great.
Cheers,
Coach
