Story
SOS Africa is UK registered charity that funds the education and care of underprivileged township children in South Africa. After 10 years the charity's support is growing world-wide and so to is it's dreams. SOS Africa's next 10 year plan is have built a community education centre in Africa.
If you know this charity you'll know they dont do anything by half measures and they always provide excellent opportunities for supporters to get involved. Together with SOS Africa and UK universities we are trying to start a programme where-by architecture students are going to be given the opportunity to design AND BUILD this community education centre as part of their own education. SOS Africa's ethos is "Empowerment Through Education" and we believe that when we have the opportunity to build this centre, even the very foundations of it will be laid upon this ethos.
Before SOS Africa can even start fundraising for such a cause, or start setting up this programme with a university in the UK, a vast amount of research needs to be under-taken. A site needs to chosen, clients need to inteviewed, a cause-specific website needs to be designed, marketing documents need to created and a team needs to assembled! I have chosen to kayak around Mauritius to start raising funds to cover these costs specifically.
We have a great dream and great energy and determination to fullfil it, but without your support none of this will be possible!
