In September last year, we decided that our School Courageous Advocacy project would be to support an animal from Port Lympne, our local zoo. We know that the zoo have been put under extreme financial pressures due to a series of lockdowns, and that they need to raise lots of money to help feed and look after their animals. 

We did a class vote and chose that we would like to support  Louango, a young mischievous gorilla from Port Lympne. 

To begin raising funds, we will be taking part in a sponsored event: Class 1 Krypton Factor where we will each take part in three challenges; mental, physical and creative. We will each challenge ourselves in these areas and hope to raise lots of money for this very worthy cause. 

The Aspinall Foundation believes that animals belong in the wild, safe from the ravages of mankind. Webelieve that the reintroduction of animals into their natural habitats can help conserve wildlife and theirhabitats. From our wild animal parks in Kent and other collections in Europe plus working in situ in Congo, Gabon and Java - we have released 8 black rhino, 135 primates, 11 European bison, and over 70 western lowland gorillas back to the wild.
