Story
I’ve always supported Macmillan but in the past year they have supported me more than I could ever have imagined.
It’s the little things as well as the big things they do. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2020 it was the scariest thing to ever hear….on my own due to covid. My wonderful Macmillan key worker helped me find the words to tell my children via a beautiful book. Then after surgery they massaged the chording in my arm which was so uncomfortable. They gave healthy fruit and vegetables during radiotherapy as it was all they could offer during full lockdown and they wanted to offer something.
The thing they did for me over and above anything was to be there for me at the end of the phone when it was all getting too much and by giving counselling and group support. The emotional love and support they give is a virtual hug like no other. Macmillan really is an incredibly amazing charity and they need more help right now than ever. I felt so lucky to have their support.
In addition to Macmillan, the breast care team in Brighton were just wonderful and they need support too. I will be donating to them 10% of anything raised on this page as an absolute minimum. This is to pay for heart shaped cushions that were so needed after surgery and during radiotherapy.
Thank you to everyone who works so hard to care for anyone who is touched by this disease. You are incredible people. Every one of you.
Thank you to you all for your support in this cause and a huge thank you to Jules, Nina, Bex and Shanna for coming along for the ride!!! ☺️ I love you all to pieces. Xxxx
