Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year, I ran the VLM in support of my son Tom who had recently lost his eyesight whilst at 6th form college. Tom has made us amazingly proud and is now at Nottingham Trent University studying Economics.
Although he's doing brilliantly well, learning to study and live independently is not without it's challenges. Tom was a keen runner but he lost confidence along with his vision and hasn't run since. Making new friends, going to nightclubs, banking, shopping and cooking are all much more difficult when you can't see but he has kept at it and is enjoying his new adventure.
Tom, his younger brother and myself all have an hereditary condition-Optic Atrophy with Leber's. This is a rare condition and I'd like to raise money and awareness of the difficulties faced by people living with sight loss.
it's for this reason that I am running the VLM again.
