Exactly one year to the day of starting this fundraiser, Saoirse's gramps lost his battle with cancer. Although he was cared for at home by his family as he wished, this would not have been possible without the help and support of Compton Hospice. Compton hospice have also provided valuable aftercare and support to Saoirse's Nan who was also battling cancer at the same time, thanks to this support and help she is now doing well. 

Saoirse has the most amazing, long, thick 53" hair and she's decided to cut it to raise money for Compton hospice. Not only will Compton hospice be benefitting from her brave and remarkable gesture but she will also be donating the 28" of hair to The Rapunzel Foundation, a charity that use donated hair to make wigs for children who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other illnesses.
