Just4Children are raising money to fund a Gensingen brace and Schroth physiotherapy for Oliver to lead a fuller life.

Story

Just4Children are raising money to fund a Gensingen brace and Schroth physiotherapy for Oliver to lead a fuller life. Oliver has adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and currently wears a special back brace to help treat his condition. He must wear this for 23 hours a day and finds lots of activities challenging due to his condition. He has now been wearing a brace for 12 months and is on his second brace. Due to his growth spurts he will be requiring further braces every 6-9 months. For this treatment we travel to London frequently to meet with his orthotist and physiotherapist. Each brace and physio costs £3100 which is likely to continue during Olivers teenage years.

This bike ride is something that Oliver personally wants to do to fund the treatment he receives. He will be wearing his brace throughout the bike ride - a feat in itself!  We hope to raise a little towards Olivers next brace which could be needed in 3-4 months time. Much of his scheduled fundraising for 2020 has had to be cancelled due to Covid 19 so this is something we can do as a family within the social distancing rules!
