Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m running my first half marathon as a personal challenge and goal, but more importantly to do my bit in memory of my beloved Nana, Kathleen Hendrick, who passed away earlier this year after a long and suffering fight with Motor Neurons Disease. I knew nothing of the disease until my Nana was diagnosed and it tends to be an illness people don’t know much about unless they know of someone who is unfortunately suffering. I would like to raise as much awareness and well needed funds as I can for MND Scotland, to help anyone suffering with the disease to get access to as much help, support and care as possible to help them and their families cope with the illness. I have seen first hand just how much this is desperately needed. My Nana was described as a real ‘Saint’ by the Priest who carried out her funeral service and she was one of those extremley dignified and rare people in the world who really had a true heart of gold and I know anyone who knew or met her felt genuinely privileged to have done so. I am proud to be her eldest Grandchild, and on behalf of all my family, and in honour of my Nana, I would like to use every opportunity I can to do something positive in her memory and to help others as she would have done. Please support me by donating as much or as little as you can afford….and wish me luck! Thank you, Claire xxx
