Story
When our precious little boy Harrison was diagnosed with cancer we felt shocked, bewildered and overwhelmed. Once we got over the initial shock and were reassured by the medical staff that he probably wasn't going to die, other worries started to set in. What about work? Could we take time off? Could we afford to take time off? Where would we park at the hospital every day? What about our son and school? What would we say to everyone, friends / family / his friends? These worries, although trivial in comparison to whether he would survive or not, hugely played on our minds and added to our stress and anxiety. We were quickly introduced to our CLIC social worker Steven. Steven immediately started to ease these 'trivial' worries for us. We built up a great professional relationship with him and we trusted every piece of help and advice he gave us. For every question we had, he had a solution. He sorted out things timely and appropriately. CLIC Sargent gave us the practical support and helped us gain control again at time when we thought we'd lost it all.
We can't thank them enough for everything they have done for our family.
CLIC Sargent rely completely on charity donations to be able to operate. Without their support we would have had a very different experience and would like to ensure that every other family in the future who are affected by childhood cancer get the same support that we did so Myself and my friend Shireen are doing the run to raise as much money as we can.
