Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in July 2019 in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland (CFI). It's a disease that directly effects the lives of 1 in 19 people and indirectly effects many more.
Ireland has the highest rate of Cystic Fibrosis (CF) per capita in the world. The average life expectancy for someone with CF is just 37. Unfortunately, we lose some much younger.
CFI do a lot of great work to improve the treatment and facilities for people with CF in Ireland. CFI also work to give assistance to both parents and children/adults with CF.
There have been huge improvements in length and quality of life in recent years which is closely linked to improvement in services and access to new ground-breaking drugs.
The number of Irish children with the disease is forecast to grow 21% in the next decade. My hope would be that, in our lifetime, we can tackle this so that people with CF can breathe easy and enjoy a full life.
I am so grateful for any support you can give!
