Search for new therapies to treat low grade serious ovarian cancer

Fundraising for The University of Edinburgh
£5,790
raised of £300 target
In memory of Nicola Orsolini
The Low-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer (LGSOC) Initiative has partnered with the University of Edinburgh to help fund transformational research into low-grade serous ovarian cancer.

Story

Nicola suffered for 10 years and in the end the treatment options ran out.  It would be wonderful if new options became available to give other woman a future.  About half of the women who suffer are in their 20's, 30's and 40's and the median survival is just 8 years.

Low grade serous ovarian cancer is a rare and under-researched disease. It affects young women and is resistant to standard treatment. At the Edinburgh Cancer Research Centre we are screening panels of new drugs in the laboratory in order to identify those most likely to be beneficial in the clinic.
