Story
Thank you for visiting my page and considering donating to Borne!
Over the last 25 years, I have been working with families during the first important years of their children's lives.
I've supported families with premie babies at home and in hospital, and experienced first hand the anxiety and uncertainty that comes with having babies that are born too soon and the long term effects this can have on the whole family.
Premature birth is the leading cause of death for children under the age of five around the world. It is the single biggest cause of neonatal deaths in the UK. From the moment they are born, premature babies face many challenges. Their lives are often complicated by long-term disability.
I was born 7 weeks early, and I am sure I have caused my parents my fair share of anxiety. I count myself lucky to be fit and healthy, and when I am not working with babies, I challenge myself to push the limits of endurance on extreme challenges.
Next year, I am braving the tropical heat to walk, cycle, kayak and raft my way across Costa Rica. I am a beacon for bugs, and I am dreading the beasties that I will probably encounter in the jungle. But I am doing this for Borne, who support much needed, ground-breaking research to stop premature birth. Together, we hope to raise £250,000 for Borne.
Thank you for supporting me and Borne! Please tick yes to Gift Aid with your donation as Borne can claim a further 25% of your donation from the HMRC at no additional cost to you.
