Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Many of you will now be aware that my daughter Anna has been challenged by alopecia areata for the last five years. Although this condition causes no physical harm and is not life threatening, the impact on people emotionally is very significant.
I have no idea personally what it feels like to have hair loss, although I have experienced pain and anguish whilst supporting Anna. By shaving my head I hope to gain an understanding of what it might feel like to have alopecia, and I'd love your donation and support for Alopecia UK. This will take place on Sunday 30th October at my local church hall. Please contact me for further details. I would love your support on the day.
We have recently spent a fantastic 'big weekend' in Glasgow with fellow alopecia sufferers organised by Alopecia UK . This event has given Anna the courage to share her condition with those around her, and she feels less isolated and more in control.
Events like this cannot happen without support from you. We want to help Alopecia UK carry on this work. Their vision is ' to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia' The love, support and encouragement we received this weekend has been incredible.
