Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you may already know I recently lost both of my Aunties to Cancer. Aunty Sharon chose more of a personal battle with the Disease not wanting to admit defeat and not wanting fuss as the fuss was admitting that she may not overcome her Cancer. In the end the Cancer won and it ended in a shocking and sudden loss. St David's wouldn't have even been in position to have offered help and support.
Aunty Karen in an equally shocking way, not long after losing her husband and only a few months after her 60th Birthday, discovered she had Cancer after self treating herself (being the nurse that she was) for viral vertigo to no avail. The hospital discovered a shadow on the lung which was cancerous and further investigation also revealed two brain mets (tumors). The Cancer was Terminal.
From diagnosis to her passing was only 8 weeks and within this time St Davids Hospice provided crucial care and support for Aunty Karen and her immediate family. During Aunty Karens care they became part of the family and without them I'm not sure how my Cousins would have managed.
I would like to show my thanks to St David's Hospice Care for their care and support by continuing the fundraising started in Leiu of flowers at Aunty Karens Funeral so please take a minute to follow the link and instructions to donate and help St David's Hospice Care continue to provide support and care for others in need. If you could also share the link to this fundraising page I would be most grateful.
