Hospice care eases the physical and emotional pain of death and dying. Letting people focus on living, right until the end. But too many people miss out on this essential care. Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, for now and forever.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Almost one year ago I stood on a beautifully sunny Tyne Bridge in Newcastle cheering on 50,000 runners of all ages, shapes and abilities in the world's biggest half marathon, The Great North Run. It was during this emotional madness I was heard (apparently) saying "I want to do that next year!".

So 11 months later with only 5 weeks to go I am quaking in my slightly worn running shoes!

Training has proved very tough especially with two large obstacles to negotiate! But the one thing that has kept me motivated, other Jack, is the great charity I have chosen to run for Help the Hospices. They are dedicated to supporting hospices throughout the UK, including the one close to my heart, The Earl Mountbatten Hospice on the Isle of Wight.

Anyone who knows me will understand what a big challenge this is, I am not sporty let alone a runner and would've done anything to get out of games at school. I am however scared, nervous and most of all excited at the prospect of running/jogging for a great charity and helping them continue their amazing work! Please use this page if you would like to donate to this cause, any amount will be gratefully received, if you can't donate any messages of support will help to keep me going in this crazy endeavour!
