We research early diagnosis and treatments to beat pancreatic cancer.

Story

Alan Livesey was my wonderful dad. He was married for 54 happy years and loved his family and life.  Famous for his sense of humour, devotion to Manchester United and Lancashire Cricket Club and for his beautiful garden, he spread kindness and warmth.

Dad was lucky to lead a long & healthy life but became ill at the end of 2013 and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2014.  Like 50% of sufferers, he was diagnosed at A&E, too late for anything but palliative care.  He passed away just 6 weeks later at home with his family. I'm running the Oxford Half Marathon to raise funds for research into this terrible disease, which receives just 1% of cancer research funding but kills 97% of sufferers.

Thanks for reading our story and (hopefully) donating.  Claire x

RCN 1155322
Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is the only national charity dedicated solely to beating pancreatic cancer through research. Survival rates are low, so new research is vital. In the past, this cancer received little attention. With your help, we can change this so more people beat pancreatic cancer.
