Story
Hi there!
As you will now be aware, I will be running the London Marathon on 17th April 2011 and really need your support – emotionally for sure but also financially!
I am running for a great children’s charity called MACS - The Micro and Anophthalmic Children’s Society. MACS was formed in 1993, by a group of parents, all of whom had children with microphthalmia (small formed eyes), anophthalmia (no eyes) and coloboma (sight problems). Until then, most of them didn't know of any other families with children like their own and the children didn’t have the opportunity to meet, support and learn from each other.
The London Marathon is a major source of fundraising for MACS and I have pledged to raise £1150 to help them continue the great work that they do. So, anything you can spare will be gratefully received.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe, and won’t be passed on to third parties. And once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
Thank you in advance for your support. Now the hard work begins. So, please spare a thought for me over the coming days, weeks and months as my wee feet and legs pound the streets of SW London and the treadmill. But I’m determined to get there and by the 17th April I’m sure I’ll be feeling like Wonder Woman when I cross that finish line!
So, please give generously.
Thanks very much.
Claire xx
P.S. Your support on the day would be appreciated too. If you’d like to come along, then please let me know.
