Ronald McDonald House Charities provides free 'home away from home' accommodation at specialist children's hospitals across the UK, enabling families to stay close to their child and maintain a degree of normal family life.

In March 2018 I received a call that no parent ever wants to receive. My daughter and grandson had been in a serious road traffic accident and were seriously injured. My grandson was transferred to Kings College hospital to Intensive Care. Ronald McDonald House Camberwell provided me with a place to stay in really close proximity to the hospital taking the worry out of trying to find London accommodation, allowing me to be close to my family and focus on them at what was a really stressful and worrying time. 

I knew about Ronald McDonald Houses but it had never crossed my mind that I would ever need them. I am eternally grateful for the support they provided at that time. The staff at the house seemed to understand what I needed without even asking, they provided all the comforts of home and this is why I would like you to support me on my London Marathon 2020 journey to help raise much needed funds to help other families in the same situation as I found myself. Every little bit helps.
