Story
On Saturday 6th May, I am doing many challenges to raise money for charities that are close to my heart. I am turning 40 this year and wanted to push myself with some tough challenges along with some good friends.
In years gone past myself and my family have had many dealings with Hull Animal Welfare Trust and I can honestly say they give every animal the chance to find that perfect home and survival.
My mum has volunteered there for over 20 years and we have seen some horrific states that animals have arrived at the shelter in from a lurcher who was used to stub out cigarettes , a puppy who had badly mauled paws due to being used for baiting in dog fighting to kittens found in plastic bags left to die through suffercation and starvation. The trust is amazing in the care and rehabilitation to ensure that all the animals have best start in there new life to come.
The trust is solely run on donations and mainly volunteer led , they raise funds through fundraising, sponsored events, collections and legacys left from people who have a passion for animals .There yearly vet bills are huge , in the region of £120,000, so anything I can raise to support this great cause is brilliant.
Thank you for your support in my quest to walk 24 miles and climb over 1800metres in 12 hours to conquer the challenge of the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
