Story
My 6 year old niece Hannah was diagnosed with Leukaemia in October 2011. After a very long and worrying 7 months she has received a bone marrow transplant and is on the way to making a full recovery.
Whilst in hospital she received fantastic support from a number of charities and over the last few months, as a family, we have tried to raise as much money and awareness as possible for each and every one. This time it is for the benefit of Be Child Cancer Aware.
Be Child Cancer Aware not only help to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of the cancers that affect children, teenagers and young adults they provide support to families of those diagnosed with cancer. Their Beads of Courage programme is designed to provide an additional treatment and offers support for children and teenagers undergoing serious illness and treatments. The beads allow the children to understand and explain to others what they have been through and shows their strength and courage.
Be Child Cancer Aware would like to provide the Beads of Courage programme in as many oncology wards in UK hospitals as possible, to do this they need our help to raise funds.
