Yeii I completed the challenge in around 7.5 hours!

I must admit that as the most physically demanding thing I have ever had to do in my life.. We started up around 10.30 pm (after a lovely chicken korma and rice which was generously put on by the organisers),most of the way I was in a vest top as I was pumping sweat as you wouldn't believe. I was eaten all over by the pesky little flies that appeared to love the combined taste of my mossie repellent and sweat.

Three quarters of the way up I came across snow which was a nightmare as visibility was bad due to the mist , low cloud and sweat in my eyes ,so it was really difficult to see the markers, Thank god for a woman called Sally from Glasgow who kept me going with jelly babies.

When we got to the top it was the biggest anti climax imaginable. I had taken a lock of my mums hair and a fosters(Mam's choice of drink on bingo night)and I had hoped to have a moment to reflect at the top, This was not possible due to the freezing wind ,so after 4 hours of climbing I saw nothing and the Fosters stayed in my backpack!

It took 3.5 hours to get down again followed by a 3 hour drive back to the hotel ..however I have raised over £2000 and hopefully a lot more people are now aware of this Cruel and un-dignifying disease ,which makes the aches and pains worth it . I have decided to take part in this challenge in memory of my lovely mum.

Mam lived through this terrible,undignifying disease for many years.She went from being a fun loving mam,who adored her children and grandchildren,to someone who was afraid:someone who people couldn't be bothered with,someone who was alone.

I have a wide knowledge base on mental health,but until I attended a talk on Alzheimers did I finally get a sense of what she went through on a daily basis: Someone putting food in your mouth when you are not hungry;a stranger putting you on the toilet or getting you undressed when you just want to be left alone or someone you have never seen before hugging you and calling you mam!

Please please help me raise awareness and funds to help the Alzheimers Society to  continue their hard work and research into this awful Disease.
