Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
I'm excited to share that in July I have been selected to volunteer in Tanzania for 3 months :D This will involve:
- ICS water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) - Aim of providing long lasting access to, and use of, wash facilities.
- ICS Livelihoods - Aim of providing sustained, safe, dignified, and fair work.
This is in partnership with International Citizen Service, an organisation that brings young people together in order to fight poverty where it is needed the most. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK to become active citizens who are passionate about long term and sustainable community development.
My first challenge is to raise £800!
The money raised by volunteers makes up the final 10% of the money provided by the UK government to create longlasting change in the areas that need it the most. Once I am back from the placement, I will take part in Action @ Home which involves using what we have learned to make an impact back home.
Fundraising:
In order to fundraise, I will be visiting local communities, supermarkets, and town centres, as well as doing a sponsored swim and cycle, and organising an exciting community event.
I'll be posting my fundraising activities on this page as well as my Twitter page and blog - links below.
Any contribution from you will make a real difference to the lives of people in developing countries.
