Orbis Ireland are a charity that works to end preventable blindness in Ethiopia.You can help us save sight with exercise, by running 20 minutes a day for 20 days across the month of May, It only costs 6 euro to conduct a sight saving surgery in Ethiopia for those at immediate risk of blindness. All too often, eye disease is left undetected and therefore untreated. Too many children go blind, needlessly. The sad reality is that 50% of children who go blind in Ethiopia will die within two years. Due to Covid-19, some of our outreach activities have been paused in Ethiopia in order to guard public health, but where possible emergency surgeries are still being performed. Orbis Ireland need to raise funds now to ensure that when it is safe to restart our essential surgeries, that we are in a position to address the backlog created by the current postponement of non-emergency surgery.
