Story
Churwell Lions Football Club is a Proud Community Club in Morley, Leeds.
We have 14 Teams and hundreds of members who visit our premises each week, so naturally, we want to protect our Churwell Family by having this LIFE SAVING piece of equipment present at all of our games!
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest KILLS 100,000 people, young and old each year
- SCA claims more lives than breast cancer, lung cancer and aids combined every year.
- CPR when used alongside a defibrilaltor increases the survival rate from 9% to 50%
- CPR alone only saves lives of 9% who suffer a SCA
- Every week in the UK 15 Young people die from a SCA
£900 will purchase a Defibrillator from this Fantastic Charity Goals4Hearts, set up by Lee Orton who himself, had a Sudden Cardiac Arrest playing football for Aimbry FC.
Lee's Heart stopped for several minutes and was saved by a former nurse and spectator Mark Martin and Aimbry's Simon West before the paramedics arrived with a defibrillator which gave Lee's heart a shock to help re-start it!
Goals4Hearts will also arrange for the training needed by the West Yorkshire Ambulance Services for our coaches.
A further £700 is needed to purchase an Anti Frost & Vandal Wall Bracket to keep the Defibrillator in which will be situated on the wall at Bruntcliffe High School in Morley and will be shared between Churwell Lions FC< Bruntcliffe High School and Guildersome Spurs FC.
Churwell would like to thank each any every one of you that donates to help us get this life saving equipment
We need 3 of these as we have 3 different premises but we have to start somewhere, so the first Defib will be placed at Bruntcliffe School in Morley so it can also be used by the school if needed.
PLEASE HELP!
