We are a 24 hour search & rescue service to save lives at sea

Story

This year's Castle 2 Castle Swim between Pendennis and St. Mawes Castles will be my 8th taking part. From its inception in 2009 with a relatively small number of swimmers, the number of participants has mushroomed to a possible max of 450, raising much needed funds for our great RNLI, which has only ever been supported and maintained entirely through voluntary contributions, receiving no Government support. RNLI says: "This  event raises money to support the RNLI's volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards. We expect that 2024 will be one of the busiest years in the RNLI's 200 year history, so with the charity relying on the public's voluntary donations every pound raised will help to save more lives around our coast". With weather patterns changing due to climate change, RNLI has also been undertaking an increasing number of land rescues due to flooding. Who hasn't needed the RNLI's help at some point or doesn't know someone who has? Any of us may yet. Your help is needed more than ever. By supporting me, you will be making a valuable contribution to the charity which is simply dedicated to saving lives.

RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.
