Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. 

I wanted to write to you personally to share with you my thoughts on a forthcoming trip.   

I am off to Brazil to a small village in the Kalungas region to help with the building of a school for under privileged children, the added bonus is that I am at the same time also raising monies for Cancer Research UK. 

Firstly the school is the biggest and most important in the region serving 130 children aged from 4 plus; the plan is to build two new classrooms to cater for their growing demands; I think education is crucial in helping the future of these children and hopefully my new found “on the job “DIY skills” will prove useful! 

Equally as important is the funds we can raise to support Cancer Research UK; those of you who know me will know that I lost my dear mum 2 years ago to cancer.  She was my mentor, my guiding light and our bond as mother and son was something so very special to me that it still hurts when I think of her, which is often. 

I would be surprised if you have not been touched in some way by this horrendous indiscriminate disease knowing somebody whose life it has taken or like me, loosing somebody who was so special to you. 

My aim therefore is to raise as much money as I can to help with the building of the school classrooms and help with Cancer Research UK. 

So, with my Dewalt drill in hand and sun cream to protect my good looks I am off to play Bob the Builder for 10 days with 19 other like minded mates! 

I need to raise a minimum of £3,000 to make sure I get there; I will worry about getting back later on and I might not come back! (Hooray I can hear you shout!) 

Of the £3,000 raised over a third of the money goes to Cancer Research and the remainder covers the costs of the school renovation project. 

I am asking you to look deep into your hearts and dig deep into your pockets to help me raise the funds so that we can make a small difference.
