Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I ran my very first London Marathon in 2016 (my first ever one), it is hard to explain the feelings during the run, the excitement waiting at the start, the fantastic support of the crowds, the agony when the legs really want to give up from mile 17 and the euphoria of crossing the finish line, all with my son Justin running by my side and my wife and Leon (son) supporting us all the way.
When you cross the finish line you say never again, but after a few days the memory of the pain subsides and the good parts remain firmly in your mind and you start to think maybe I would like to do that again.
Leon who watched us run always said he would never run a marathon but was very much caught up in the occasion and was motivated to want to do it, but not on his own, so suddenly I have a running partner again to train and run (as I had with Justin).
Not many people attempt to run a marathon or are even able to get into the London Marathon, but to run my first one with Justin in 2016 was a big bucket list tick and to have the opportunity to run in 2017 with Leon is fantastic and was all the motivation I needed.
Now it is time to begin the training schedule, the months of hard work will be worth it on the day.
The charity I am fund raising for this year is PHAB Kids.
