Story
Maybe it was the sound of laughter, the gentle voice of a reassuring staff, or that the Club smelled like an old gym locker that drew me in.
I have been a Board Member since 2008 and whole-heartedly support the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Spokane County. The Clubs are not just buildings that house kids after school. The Clubs are well-used spaces filled with the immeasurable energy of young people excited to have fun while learning cool stuff beyond academics. Where the staff are trusted mentors, helping kids understand how to find value in themselves as well as learn respect for others. The Clubs offer a structured, enriching environment for kids to grow, where they are encouraged to speak their truths and follow their dreams. Ultimately, the relationships, experiences, and life skills are the intangibles that have a lasting impact on Club members hours and even years after they leave these spaces behind.
Now more than ever, our kids need the Boys & Girls Clubs to feel safe and supported, so please donate and join me in doing whatever it takes to help our local youth.
