Story
On the 24th of February I was given news that made my world come to a standstill. I was told that my mother had been diagnosed with Cancer. After a whirlwind few weeks, that felt like a lifetime, not knowing how severe the prognosis was and whilst we waited for more tests to be run, we finally got the most amazing news possible for someone in her condition, that an operation to remove the tumours is all she needs to be rid of it!
I will be forever grateful to everyone at Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust who were tasked with her care over the last four weeks and also those she will encounter up to and after her operation date in little over two weeks.
Some people aren’t so lucky and for my next challenge this year I am upping my training and on the 17th June, along with my highly asthmatic sister and my almost 70yr old cancer surviving uncle, I will be walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Marie Curie who offer expert care, guidance and support to people living with a terminal illness
Please help me get to my very modest target for this very worthy cause, even just sharing the post would be appreciated
Thank you
