The original plan was to  'have a laugh and a bit of a giggle' (mostly at Helen's expense as she is scared of fish!) whilst myself and my 2 lovely sisters Helen and Sarah took part in the Great North Swim. Good family friend Terri and my aunt Jan also wanted to join us and so we became team Ninja Turtles!

Sadly neither of my sisters are able to take part anymore one for a happy reason - Helen is pregnant :-) and one for a not so happy reason - Sarah has recently had surgery to remove a second brain tumour :-(

We are raising money for the Brain tumour charity which is very close to our heart. Every day 25 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour and they are the biggest cancer killer of the under 40s, including children. The brain tumour charity aims to improve the diagnosis, treatment and understanding of brain tumours. They also provide a support and information service and raise awareness of this devastating disease to improve outcomes and reduce diagnosis times.
