We provide free expert care and support to people affected by life-limiting illness

Story

At the end of September 2018 I will be retiring after 30 years as a GP in Bletchley. During that time I have seen the amazing work done by Willen Hospice to support and care for many patients and friends with cancer and other end of life conditions.

As a thank you to them I am seeking to raise as much money as possible by running the Great North Run on 9th September 2018. It will be my first Half Marathon!

Since I got my place it has been a bit of an injury roller coaster, with a chronic hamstring tendinopathy, an achilles tendinitis and a sprained ankle to contend with. With the help of my Physio I am determined to make it round!

Your help for this worthy cause would be much appreciated. 😊

Many thanks

Christine

(Willen Hospice provides specialist end-of-life care for adults, focusing on four key areas: specialist symptom control, emotional support, spiritual support and care for carers.Often the most distressing aspect of living with life-limiting illnesses is the types of pain and symptoms which can arise. Their team of dedicated staff and volunteers can give compassionate, specialist support to patients, and their family members, to help deal with, as they wish to, the physical and emotional effects of both their illness and treatments.)
