Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and thank you again to all of you who have already sponsored me. If you still wish to donate it is not too late to do so.
I completed the 10.5 km Walk for Life on 15th May 2011 to help raise funds for Farleigh Hospice in Chelmsford. The weather stayed fine and the sun put in some appearances. I walked with my friend Jean and her daughter Claire along the riverbank from Paper Mill Lock at Little Baddow into Chelmsford. It took us 2 hours and my new knees stood the test very well indeed. I had both knees replaced last year. year. The first in April and the second in September.
My wonderful husband David was cared for by Farleigh in the last days of his life. The care he received was exemplary in a setting second to none. David was very calm and out of pain and we were able to spend as much time as we wanted with him which meant so much to us. Stewart and Sarah were with me when David left us and we felt very much a family together in very special surroundings on what was the most difficult day of our lives.
The work that Farleigh Hospice does is amazing. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and it is what every person with a life limiting illness should be able to experience during their journey and in those last days.
