the good thing about wearing a sing on the city baseball cap is when its windy it stops your hair whipping into your eyes ..the bad bit is to stop it blowing off you have to have it so tight it dents your forehead !:)

so that was interesting ! I didn't realise that the canal was just such a wind funnel ! so speedy coming home :) I hope the prevailing wind is from the west during the monster bike - could be finished really quickly !

that was interesting ! didn't quite realise just how much the canal creates a wind funnel - so speedy coming home - let's hope the prevailing wind from fort William to fort augustus is a west one - could be finished the bike bit in no time :)
A huge thank you and a virtual hug to everyone that has already donated - I'm truly delighted and bit humbled that I've got past the £400.00 mark already, Maggies is a wonderful charity and every penny will be well used, Our team target has still a way to go, and there are some great fund raising ideas on the go - so keep an eye on the Sing in the City, Monster bike and hike facebook page !
Tomorrow we have another team outing .. should be a good fun! Then I need to do some baking tomorrow night as I'll be taking some goodies into work to sell on Monday ;)
Oh and finally an update on the gel seat cover - I discovered this week that if you don't reduce the height of the seat to compensate for the extra cover - it is not more comfortable - in fact firmly the opposite !!
Wow another week almost finished! The 1st official countdown week to the big event.
New skills to add to my list ..mountain biking at GlenTress on Sunday - oh are those bike seats firm or what? - my butt is still tender! Definitley need to add a gel seat cover to the shopping list before May!
It was fun and scarey and hard work but I kept all my toys in the pram even when we kept going on and on up hill. The down bits did make up for it .
Heading up north this week so will be some diferent views to add - I may even go at take a photo of the finish point.. just so that we know what it looks like !

just finished my 1st training walk using walking poles - on the plus side did walk quicker - minus side - tripped myself up twice ..overall a success :)
Hey thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm part of the Sing in the city team who are really looking forward to the challenge of Maggies Monster Bike and Hike on the 5th May - me, I'm looking forward to getting off the bike and doing the hike. I seem to be safer under my own steam :)
I was lucky enough to be part of the Sing in the City choir who sang at last years event . I was really inspired by the commitment and energy from anyone I spoke there and I left determined to be part of it this year.
It's made even more special as I going to be doing this as part of a Sing in the City team. SitC is fantastic and I've very proud to be part of it.This year I get to sing the night before at the safety briefing and then very early in the next morning it's on that bike at Fort William and start pedaling for 30 odd miles then ditch it and start walking (I'm hoping we have enough puff to sing a little along the way.)
Maggies is a fantastic charity, there is a link on this page so that you can see for yourself all the amazing support they offer to people when they are at a really vulnerable time of their life
. I hope that you will be able to help me to support the wonderful work that they do by donating via this page.
Thank you - I appreciate it:)
Christine
